The First Date

March 3rd, 2010.
Through some electronic conversation I find we share a common interest in photography. The day quickly turns to night as we capture still frames of moments to last a lifetime. As it is still quite chilly out, she finds solace wrapped around my arm. I enjoy it as well, however, I relish in the moment and am soon lost. An emu; native to the north, and a koala bear; native to eucalyptus trees doing very little else than eating leaves slowly and hugging trees, have very good innate directional sense. The journey begins to find the car.
After a long day of travels, we commence our well deserved dinner at Asian Legend. I like the way she smiles at me. Dinner goes smoothly, and we eat to our hearts content.
The day has yet to end. Our next destination is a testament of our skills on ice. Being the gentlemen I am, I suck at skating. Did I mention this koala bear used to figure skate? Well she did. This time I take solace in her arms. I quite like it. As we go round and round the rink, the people around us slowly depart. It feels like it's just the two of us.
As the night draws on and we realize its about time to call it a day, we take a last spin around the rink... and then another... and then another. And finally, the time is perfect. Adequate lamp-post lighting, minimal distractions, without sneezing =p, I spin her to a stop, look deep into her eyes, and we share our first kiss.
------
Flash forward,
To make it official, I do like any other chivalrous man in the past. No beating around a bush, no games. I get her a single long stemmed red rose and I ask her.
"Jazey, will you be my girlfriend?"
Yes. Yes she will.

The Approach
Much like in the wild, I approach aggressively, testing out her physical prowess by playing chicken with her down the hill. I make eye-contact, almost obnoxiously until I have her attention.
I start simply with a Hi.
------------
Natural selection dictates it's survival of the fittest. She challenges me - 'Try and catch me" and darts down the hill.
I can only think 'zomfg you did not just challenge me.' and give chase.
Besting her ability on the board, I nearly take it too far and she almost PKs onto her face. I have won her approval and we begin the courtship ritual.

Welcome to the Zoo!
February 26th, 2010.
We have a new addition to the zoo!
A cute little koala bear.
The story of the koala.
I am off to blue mountain with a plethora of my friends. Aaron, Stacy, George and Josh to name a few. The story begins with a wandering emu. Naturally as an emu I have a knack for noticing my surroundings and paying attention to detail. As I was cruising down Dr. Doug, I noticed a brightly coloured snowboarder and naturally, being drawn to bright things, I decided to inquire further. As we all know, emu's have what we call a 'babe-dar'. I knew she was a cutie. I mean what more can you ask for? A cute girl who also snowboards well! I had to tell George. As I board by him and we chat he catches a glimpse but it is already too late. She's gone.
As we discuss the possibility of finding a cute girl who snowboards on a weekend with a BAJILLION people, George says there's plenty of fish in the sea! I relay my story to him, Stacy and Aaron. George says 'If its meant to be, its meant to be.' The search for the girl in the blue pants and an orange jacket began.
After a few runs Stacy decides to take my search upon herself. Naturally being a girl, she's equally, if not more, attracted to bright things.
She points! "Jon! Orange Pants!"
J:...stacy those are orange pants.. not an orange jacket.
She points! "Jon! Orange Jacket!"
J:...it's a man with an orange jacket ...in skiis.
She points! "Jon! Orange Jacket!"
J:...that's a little girl... but at least she's snowboarding this time.
She points! "Jon! Orange pants!"
J: Okay Stacy I've had enough of this game.
George glances over. "Hey Jon.. I think that might actually be the girl this time."
I look over, and low and behold. It's her. But she's just finished binding in and begins her downhill descent. This time around I wasn't gonna miss out. I tell my friends PEACEOUTTT meet you at the bottom. I've gotta go see about a girl.
