Parrots swing... dance

August 13th, 2010.

Did you know that parrots have been seen dancing?
Welll now you know! Don't believe me?

Dancing Parrot

Backstreet boys of all things eh? =D

I was listening to music on the radio and a slow jam came on. Must have been at work. I promise Jazey next time we'll slow dance together. The next time I see her I put on Aerosmith's Don't wanna miss a thing. Shall we dance?

Parrots have rhythm.

Oopsie! Goldfish memoriieeee

June 30th, 2010.

Goldfish are supposed to have a memory that spans only 6 seconds. This however, is a common misconception as studies have been done on this very topic.

Fish had their memory tested by a simple research design that required them to remember which tube to enter to obtain food. This tube was marked with a red light. When the red light location had changed. The fish still entered the tube with the red light. This test was repeated throughout a prolonged time period thereby busting the myth that fish have a memory of 6 seconds.

Anyways, I take my fish out on a picnic. We enjoy the finer foods.. Pasta salad, crappy tasting crutons and some salami sandwiches with some delicious sparkling lemonade to top it off. Mmmmm boy were we hungry. And who wouldn't enjoy the nice summer breeze looking at her all day?

Now what kind of date would this have been if we didn't have any entertainment? We watch kids play soccer at a local soccer net. One team got destroyed.. they had a fat goalie.

Being the goldfish I am, I teach the other how to project cherry seeds as far as possible. Spitting is not very womanly. And I am glad it is not her forte.

Another game I introduce brings back pleasant memories of my childhood. Paper airplanes. I brought along 2 pieces of paper and we design our own models of flight. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of my award winning airplane. I can however, describe how amazing hers was.

I will do so with a comparison you can try at home.

Step 1 - Obtain blank sheet of paper
Step 2 - Scrunch paper into a ball like you would to toss into a waste basket.
Step 3 - Toss said scrunched paper ball into waste basket.

You have just destroyed the distance traveled by Jazey's flight model. Congratulations.

Goldfish generate great memories.

Burrow burrow burrow!

July 28th, 2010.

Oh the art of archeology. A much desired skill. Archeologists love to DIG! Well technically paleontologists would really like to dig more, since fossils are ALWAYS underground.. anyhoo.

We like to dig. And we do so all the time! North beach, woodbine beach, and even concrete parking lots. We dig everywhere!

Other aminals that dig are - dogs.. badgers.. ground hogs.. and most importantly naked mole rats. I enjoy playing vball with her, as everytime she makes a mistake and sets me too far off, or sets over the net. I know, without looking, that she's looking at me with the 'oopsie!' face. It's okay. I don't mind. I enjoy being able to play with you. Winnings always fun, but just playing and enjoying the game together is enough for me!

Bumblebee bumblebee bumble bee TUNA!

Naked mole rats are sometimes slow, but they have heart!

Two bats at the market

July 10th, 2010.

The night market. An asian jam held at metro square in markham. A venue I had frequently visited in the past. An annual occurrence. Much to my surprise when the topic came up and Jazey had never heard of such a thing.

Our night begins with the first adventure: finding parking. Somehow I make a left, a right, a wrong turn? and we end up behind the market on prime real-estate. A short trek through grass and we're right where we want to be.. well only a fence from our destination. We watch others take the long scenic route around this massive brick fence. But simple math reminds me the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Well sort of straight. We go right over this huge fence, even when Jazey is wearing a skirt. And to our amusement. As we sit atop the fence, another couple tries our awesome strategy, however, they fail. So they have it worst, cut up, tired, and they still gotta walk around the long way. Suckers. lol

Uncharacteristic as it is for bats to roam around, we mosey along between the many many stalls of various asian foods and delectable goods. I stand firm for you against the pushy crowds.

We stop to appreciate the endless wave upon wave of asians crashing into us in such a confined area. The Asian Invasion. A success.

She occupies her mind with cute buttons and some guy's shirt. And together we enjoy sitting on a small fence near the side of a street while eating fish balls and mussels, the refreshing taste of cheap bubble tea, with plenty of ice, night oncrete reverse 6's vball, with us cheering for the underdogs, the nicer team, and most importantly, I relish in her company.

Bats make me smile.

The Lion's Quest

June 21st, 2010.

After a whole lot of random direction driving.. going the wrong way a whole bunch of times.. we arrive at our destination. Port Credit! Woohoo! Andddd we're done rollerblading all of it in 5 mins. We race down the trail and enjoy the boardwalk hand in hand.

Jazey stalks her prey.. ready to pouncee.. but this one won't catch much. lol

Part II
In search of the perfect prey.

After numerous 'omg you haven't tried hero burger!?' I had long ago decided I would try it. However, forces in this world made it impossible to do so. Every attempt we made at the quest for the hero burger had resulted in fan empty stomach. Every time, as we raced to make it into the store, it was 9. Closed. A failure.

That is.. until today.

This quest continues as we depart from port union after our rollerblading adventure. Our stomachs growl and our hunger drives us. As we contemplate the merits of shwarma or pho.. the brilliant idea of hero burger arises.

Crap. 8:50.

We're not gonna make it.
We race down Britiania.
Jazey gives me the wrong direction.
Again.

You see this lioness bonked her head somewhere when she was just but a cub and now has no sense of direction.

8:58. We're close. Are we gonna make it?! Can we do it?!

9:01. It's past 9. It's our fate. Closed again..
but wait.. we're here! The open sign is still flashing! We made it! Finally our quest complete at last.

Sauga hero burger apparently stays open until 10. Markhamers sleep too early it seems. I have never ordered from here before. Finally it is time. I order a hero burger under the careful guidance of miss Carrie Long.

The result is us enjoying our delicious hero burger combo with extra hero sauce on the side for our fries. mmm mmm MM!

The lioness properly takes care of her king. All gone! haha it was delicious. Thank you for the yummyyums in my tummytums.

Lions are very considerate.

Piggies in a bowl

June 12th, 2010.

I attend my koala bear's cousin's birthday party along with Georgemaporgey. We eat at some 'pricey' thai place and enjoy the mm mm goodness of pad thai after a day of shopping. After the mediocre pad thai, a stroke of insight tells us we need to make some of our own!

Instant nooble compemetition!

The contestants choose their culinary weapons of choice at TnT. We're allowed 2 package types and 1 egg! My choices are 'Mi Go Reng' and 'QQ' noodles on the left and Jazey goes with Neoguki and some 'Unif Tung Artificial beef flavour' on the right.

The following two are mine : Mi Go Reng and QQ.

The following two are Jazey's : Soupys

We eat all 4 instant noodles.. I definitely ate too much. Our eyes are bigger than we think! Either way this was a delicious yet simple feast. I like how we both enjoy the simpler things in life. Naturally, as piggggssssss this meal was a tasty treat. Spicy prawn crackers are delicious or 'Oishi' as the japanese would say.. and appropriately so.

We enjoy each others company and take a nice relaxed night cuddling up to a movie.

P.S. I won the contest.

Piggies are delightful.
